Weather Feeds

Short Description

The Weather Forecasts that are provided in the Aplinx system are dependant on updates from various weather stations around the country. Each weather station will provides independent information.

Please note that some of these feeds will be for the current day only. Some may show only forecasts for the coming day/s, and others will provide both feed types.

Each weather station providing current forecasts is listed in the Weather Feed editor. Most are located in or near major cities. Only Australian forecasts are provided in this service.

Weather Feeds are classified as miscellaneous objects. For information on making weather feeds available to your system see:

Using Weather Feed Codes

Weather feeds in the Aplinx system are created with dynamic code. When a weather feed is compiled and displayed on your webpage these codes are replaced with their respective details. For a real example of this see the demonstration at the end of this page.

Before editing this object type we recommend familiarising yourself with these codes. Incorrect codes will not be translated by the system and will therefore appear as text and not the correct weather details.

Standard Items:

  • {location} - This is equal to the weather station's name, or nearest town.
  • {state} - The Australian state containing the weather station.

Numbered Items:

Numbering of the following items will show information for a particular day. When followed by the number zero, information for the current day will be displayed. {day_1} will show tomorrow's name (ie: if today is 'Monday', it will show 'Tuesday'). {min_1} will display the minimum temperature expected tomorrow. Depending on which weather station you have chosen, you may include up to four days. Some stations provide forecasts for multiple days. Others will only show the current weather, or single day forecasts.

  • {day_0} - The name of the day being forecasted.
  • {image_0} - An animated graphic to represent the weather type for the day forecasted.
  • {desc_0} - A simple description of the type of weather forecasted.
  • {min_0} - The minimum temperature forecasted.
  • {max_0} - The maximum temperature forecasted.
