Aplinx Survey Planner

Short Description

Survey Planner has been created so that, as an admin user, you may create and edit Internet based surveys and questionnaires, then collect and analyse respondent's data and in due course, integrate elements of this data into your existing website and Internet strategy.

Adding a New Portal

To add a new Portal to Survey Planner, click on the ADD PORTAL button at the top of this screen.

This will load an information screen where you should define the Portal settings:

  • Portal Name
    • Used primarily to identify a group of surveys in the Portal Manager
  • URL for this Portal
    • This should be a single word - without spaces (underscore may be used) - that will act as part of the URL when directing users to your surveys.
  • Visible to Public
    • Determines whether or not the public has permission to view this Portal (and the list of Surveys contained within it).
  • Logo URL
    • Above each survey Portal, you may also customise which image/s appear. In the text box for 'Left Logo URL' and ' Right Logo URL' you should enter a full URL path (including http:// in front of the URL) to an image that has been uploaded to the Internet. Leaving these fields blank will also leave the Logo area at the top of your surveys blank.

When users go to a survey, the URL they use to access it will be made up from a variety of elements. In short, they are:

http://your_domain_name.com/clientname/portal_name/survey_URL/

The portal_name shown in this example is derived from the URL Name provided when you create or edit a Portal.

When complete, select the SAVE button at the bottom of the screen. The Portal Manager will reload, showing the new portal at the bottom of the screen.

Should you wish to alter these settings at any time after the creation of a Portal, identify that Portal in the Portal Manager and click on the PROPERTIES button next to that Portal's name. The same Admin Panel will appear. Any changes made to a Portal with Surveys within it will be adopted by the dependent Surveys upon Saving.
