About Permissions

Permissions are used to allow or deny access to a page, object, manager or folder.

Two default groups of permissions exist in the system. They are Administration and World users. By default, the world user may view all pages, but will not have access to any administration functions. The administrator must login to gain access to these functions.

By default, an administrator will have access to all managers (those that are active in your version of Aplinx). They will be able to view all pages, all objects on those pages plus all managers and their respective folders. As an admin user, you may create additional admin accounts or users and restrict their permissions using this feature in Aplinx.

Search Engines

If you wish to stop search engines from accessing to a page in your website - please refer to one of the following:

  • Page Permissions - this solution allows you to block access to a page for some or all users, not just search engines. Access may then be gained via loging in with an assigned username and password.
  • Sitemaps & Hiding pages from search engines - this option means that you may stop certain pages showing up in search engine's search results.
