Adding Pages to your Website
In order to complete this task you will need to be logged in as an administrator. See Administrator Accounts.
- Select the
button form the top left of your screen.
- From the Applications menu, access the Page Manager. A new page will load, similar to the one below:

- To add an ordinary page to your website, select 'Add New Page' from the 'Layout Editor' on the left hand side.

A new page will load.

- Type the name of your new page in the text box and click 'ADD PAGE'. The name given here is the default name for this page in the menu. It will also appear as the title of the page when it is viewed in a web browser.
Page Manager will load again, showing the name and ID number of your new page at the bottom of the list. The new page - being the last active object in Page Manager - will appear highlighted.

When hovering your mouse cursor over the Aplinx logos in the Options column, a menu for the page on that line will open.
This menu will give access to the following items. Select the links for information:
Adding and Deleting Sub Pages
Creating Sub pages prevents overwhelming users with long menus and too many options. In the example below 'Content' is a sub page of 'Using the Toolbar', so the user will not see 'Content' in the menu until they have accessed 'Using the Toolbar'. In turn, 'Article Slideshow', 'Articles' and 'Attachments' are all sub pages of 'Content', so when a user clicks on 'Content' they will be presented with these further options. Sub pages are often called child pages and the the page they stem from is a parent page.

To create a Sub Page
- Select Applications from the top left hand corner of the screen.
- Click Page Manager, this will open a map of your site as shown above.
- Move the cursor over the Aplinx icon of the parent page. In the example below 'Overview' is the parent page selected.
- Click Add Sub page

- A new page will load. Type in a name for the new sub page in the text box provided. Select 'ADD PAGE'.

- The new sub page will appear highlighted in the site tree in position below its parent page. Expanding the tree by selecting the arrow next to the parent pages will reveal other sub pages.

To delete a sub page
- Select Applications from the top right hand corner of the screen
- Click Page Manager
- Move the cursor over the Aplinx icon of the page to be deleted
- A tool box will appear, select delete
- You will be asked to confirm. Select 'YES' to delete the page named in bold text.

Deleting Pages with Sub-Pages
If you want to delete a page with sub pages follow steps 1 - 4 above. When you click Delete the following prompt box will appear.

- In this example 'Content' is the parent page. The first of the sub pages is 'Article Slideshow'. To prevent the sub pages of Content being deleted, select the top button from the Delete Page box. This will move the sub pages upwards to the next parent page. Using the example above, if Content was deleted, Article Slideshow, Articles and Attachments would become sub pages of 'Using the Toolbar'.
- To delete the parent page and all of its sub pages, select the second button. The parent page and all sub pages will be removed from the system.

- If you do not wish to delete any pages, select the Cancel button.
Changing a Page's Name
Changing a page name will alter the title (seen at the top of the browser window) and the default name for the page in the menu.
See Metadata for more information.
To change a page's name you will need to be logged in as an administrator, with the Aplinx toolbar visible at the top of your screen.
- Select 'Applications' from the Aplinx toolbar.
- Click 'Page Manager' in the Applications menu.
- Move the cursor over the Aplinx icon next to the page you wish to rename.
- A tool box will appear, select Properties.
- A new page will load similar to the one below. Type the new page name in the first text box.

- Click Save to make these changes permanent.
Name on Menu
If you require a different name for this page on the menu, type this in the second text box.
URL Name
The third text box refers to the URL of the page. By default, the pages in your website will be linked to via their pageID number. Therefore the address of your page might by default appear like this:
http://www.yoursite.com/?pageid=724
Typing a value in the third text box makes pages easier to find. The value in this box must not contain spaces. It must be at least 5 characters long.
To find a page with a URL Name, type the URL Name instead of '?pageid=724'. This is case sensitive. If the URL Name for the page is LOGIN, you should type:
http://www.yoursite.com/LOGIN or http://www.yoursite.com/index.php?LOGIN
When a page is given a URL Name it can be accessed by using either the pageID number or the URL Name, as shown in the three examples above.
Disable on menu?
When this box is ticked, the page will not appear on any of the dynamic menus. Links to the page will need to be created manually. Pages that have been disabled on the menu can still be accessed by typing the url in a browser's address bar.
To create manual links see Article Editor for more information.
Use Masterpage
Selecting a Masterpage whilst in the Properties screen of an individual page allows you to change that page's layout without affecting the rest of your website.
If a Masterpage has been selected here, changes to the primary Masterpage will also not affect this page.
To remove an individual layout from a page, delete the Masterpage's ID number from this textbox. Selecting 'SAVE' will convert the layout of the page to that of the primary Masterpage.
For more information see Masterpage.
