Login and Logout FormsShort DescriptionLogin and Logout forms may be added to your site to allow access to restricted pages and information. For administrator users, these forms will give access to edit your Aplinx system. The main reason for using Login and Logout forms is to enable restricted access without using the address bar based login. Both login and logout forms are classified as miscellaneous objects. Understand the difference between a Login/Logout and Member Status ObjectsLogin and Logout forms are generic objects that may be used by admin and registered users who appear in your Permissions Managers to access private pages in your site. The Member Status Object appears like a login form, however will only allow access to valid users who have registered via a form set up with a Member Manager membership type. When a user of this type has logged in, the member status object will show the member's username and date of signup. It will also show a logout button. Inserting a Login or Logout FormYou will need to be logged in as an administrator with the Aplinx toolbar visible at the top of your screen in order to perform this task. See Administrator Accounts. To insert a Login or Logout Form onto a particular page or Masterpage: 1. Make sure you first select the 2. Click the 3. The 'Insert Content' widow will launch. Click 'Miscellaneous' from the bottom left, under Page Content. 4. The Miscellaneous Object Manager will launch. If the Login or Logout Form has already been created it will be visible in the list of objects under 'title'. If it has not already been created click 'Add Object'. 5. Clicking on the 'Add Object' button will launch the list of Miscellaneous Objects similar to that shown below. Choose the 'Login Form' or 'Logout Form'. This will make the selected object available in the Miscellaneous Objects Manager. 6. In the Manager, choose the Login or Logout Form by clicking the 'Insert' button on the same line as the form.

This will make the selected object available in the Miscellaneous Objects Manager. 6. In the Manager, choose the object by clicking the 'Insert' button on the same line. 7. The object will be placed on your page. This object acts as login form when a user is not logged in (image below left). When the user is logged in, it will display information similar to what is shown in the right hand image below. Formatting of your Member Status Object is optional. In the examples above, the left hand version has a text button formatted with a border of zero pixels and a white background. The version on the right has image based buttons - images are created externally and uploaded. Editing these styles can be done in the Miscellaneous Manager. Select the radio button for the member status object and click EDIT in the Manager Options Menu. The Edit Member Login Form screen will appear - similar to the one shown below. Use the PICK button to access the style editor for each portion of the Member Status Object.
