Folder PermissionsShort Description See also: How toAccessing Folder PermissionsTo access and set Folder Permissions you must be logged in with the administrator toolbar visible at the top of your screen. From theadministrator toolbar select the Select 'Folder Permissions' to load the Folder Permissions Manager. It may appear similar to the image below. Setting PermissionsTo define a permission on a folder Select 'Set Permissions' from the Manager Options Menu on the left of the screen. You can choose a User or a Group to assign viewable rights to. The folder to lock can either be set to "custom" or an existing folder. Custom folder names have been enabled so that Administrators can pre-define rules for folders before any folders are created. A good example of locked off folder might be "homepage resources [private]" so that users who are utilising this folder know that only certain other groups can view or add to this folder. Setting permissions on a folder does not affect the permissions on the content in the folder whatsoever. It is merely a way of hiding content away from other users or groups to reduce the amount of content they need to search. Note: If you want members of the "Content Authoring" and "Design" groups to be able to view the folder you will have to create two separate permission rules. | ||||||||||||||
