FAQ Generator
Short Description
The Frequently Asked Questions genterator allows you to add multiple questions and their respective answers into a FAQ Manager. When displaying these FAQs on a page in your site, the user will see a list of questions. Clicking on any of these questions, the user will be shown the relevant answer.
Below is an example FAQ object - click on the questions to view the FAQ answers:

- Can I add my own styles?

The question text will adopt your site wide anchor styles - as set in the Article Styles. By default, your questions will also be bold text.
Other than this, YES, all FAQ objects may have their own question and answer styles defined by the admin user.
If you do not want the text to be bold, in the style you attach to questions, set the font weight to be normal.
- How many FAQ questions may appear in an FAQ Generator Object?

There is no limit. You may add as many questions as you like.
- Can I use my own image on the left?

Yes, This is defined in the question's style. You may upload any image to your Aplinx website to use here. For more information see question and answer styles below.
In this example the question style has a background image set. The image is 16 pixels square, aligned to the left and does not repeat.

Access the FAQ Generator
Click the button in the administrator toolbar to open the content menu, then selectg FAQ Generator.
The FAQ Generator Manager will load in the same window. All FAQ objects that currently exist in your Aplinx website will be listed here.
Add a new FAQ object
In the FAQ Generator Manager, select ADD FAQ Listing from the Manager Options Menu on the left of the screen. The browser will then load the New FAQ Generator screen.
On this screen, give the FAQ object a title - this will be used to help identify the FAQ object in the FAQ Generator Manager.
Define Question and Answer Styles
If you wish to apply styles to the questions and answers in this FAQ object, click the PICK button for the relevant style. This will load the Style Manager in a new window - here you can select an existing style or add a new one specifically for the FAQ object you are creating.
When you have located the desired style, click the PICK button next to that style's ID number. The style's ID number will be inserted into the relevant text box on the FAQ object screen.

Add Questions and Answers
Questions and Answers exist in the FAQ object in pairs. Therefore, for each question, you must add answer text too.
When you have entered a question and answer pair
- Click the ADD button to create another question and answer pair
OR
- Click the SAVE button to save the FAQ object
Upon saving, the FAQ Generator Manager will reload showing the name of your newly created/edited FAQ object
Edit an FAQ object
To edit an existing FAQ object, when in the FAQ Generator Manager, select the radio button next to that object and click the EDIT button from the Manager Options Menu.
Insert an FAQ object onto a page or Masterpage
To insert FAQ objects onto a page you must be logged in with the administrator toolbar visible at the top of your screen.
- Open the page or Masterpage on which the FAQ listing is to appear.
- Click the
button on the administrator toolbar.
- Select
in the location or section where the FAQ listing will be located.
