ContainersShort DescriptionContainers are objects that can contain multiple other objects, such as images and articles, that are grouped together in a meaningful way. Containers have two main purposes.
Containers can be used (for example) to create a News/Promotions section on your webpages. This container may appear on the left hand side of one Masterpage and the right hand side of another. Editing the container would update both versions of the Masterpage at once. Containers work and are constructed in much the same manner as Masterpages. They may even be considered as miniature versions. Containers may be inserted onto Masterpages or used as part of an individual page.

Access Container Manager To access Container Manager you will need to be logged in with the administrator toolbar visible at the top of your screen.
The Container Manager will load in the same window. The Manager Options menu appears at the left of the Manager table. Up to ten Containers will appear on each page of the Manager table. If more than ten exist, a set of arrows and a dropdown list will appear at the top of the table to assist in browsing through the pages. You may click on the words 'ID' or 'Title' to sort and order the items in the Manager by the selected value type. Creating a ContainerTo create a Container you will need to be logged in with the administrator toolbar visible at the top of your screen.
The new container will appear highlighted in the Manager table. Editing ContainersContainers are created empty. It is recommended that you edit the container and insert content into it before placing a container on a page or Masterpage. To edit a new or existing container:
The current layout of the container will load in the same window.
Editing Sections/Layout From the edit container menu, select 'Edit Layout'. This will load a new window showing the current section layout of the container you are editing.

The page will reload, showing the container layout inside the thin green border. Content objects may now be inserted into the container's sections. The container will be inserted onto the page or Masterpage. You may edit the container or its contents from the page/Masterpage location. Editing the container in one location on your site will update all instances of the container. | ||||||||||||||
