Article Slideshow
Short Description
The Article Slideshow rotates two or more articles to create flashing, changing text. It works the same way as an Image Slideshow. Any articles can be used, however articles of the same approximate height and width and file sizes do load faster and look more professional.

Creating an Article Slideshow
To create an Article Slideshow you must be logged in with the administrator toolbar visible at the top of your screen. Click the button in the administrator toolbar to open the content menu.
Select Article Slideshow from the content menu. The Article Slideshow Manager will load in the same window.
Any existing Article Slideshows will appear in the table. To add a new slideshow select 'Add Article Slide-Show' from the Manager menu on the left of the screen. The screen will reload, now showing the settings for the new Slideshow.

Enter a Title that will appear in the Manager. The number entered in the Rotation box represents the time, in seconds, that each article will appear for. Ticking the Randomize box will mix up the order by which the articles appear. The default rotates in the order by which articles are selected and added to the Article Slideshow. |

Selecting Articles for the Slideshow
Select 'Pick' to open the Articles folder - for information on creating articles see Articles. In the Article Manager, each article will now have a 'Select' button next to it. Choose the first article to be displayed in the slideshow by clicking 'Select'.
Each object in the Article Manager has an object ID number. Clicking on the select button next to an article will enter this ID number into the text box in the New Article Slideshow screen.
If you know the object ID number of the article you wish to add, you may type this into the text box instead of selecting the 'Pick' button.

The page will refresh showing a large number one next to the contents of the first selected article. Repeat these steps to add more Articles. Make sure to click 'ADD' every time. Articles will only appear in the slideshow if they are visible in this list. |

Select the 'Save' button when all articles have been added. The Article Slideshow Manager will load showing the name of the new slideshow at the bottom of the list. To view the slideshow click on the 'Preview' button.
Editing an Article Slideshow
Editing an Article Slideshow must be done via the Article Slideshow Manager.
Select the radio button next to the Article Slideshow and select 'Edit' from the Manager Options menu on the left side of the screen.
All settings - as outlined in Creating an Article Slideshow - are available to edit.
- Selecting 'Cancel' will return to the Image Slideshow Manager with the last saved version.
- Selecting 'Save' will overwrite the previous version.
Article Slideshows may also be duplicted by selecting the radio button of a slideshow in the Manager and clicking 'Duplicate' from the Manager Options menu on the left side of the screen. This will create a second object with the same properties as the first. The name may be changed by accessing 'Metadata' for that slideshow. Any changes made to one slideshow will not affect other slideshows. Articles contained in one slideshow are not duplicated with the slideshow. Any changes to the articles will affect all instances where that article appears.
To Insert the Article Slideshow to a page
Article Slideshows can not be inserted into other Articles or objects.
To insert a Slideshow onto a page you must be logged in with the administrator toolbar visible at the top of your screen.
- Open the page or Masterpage on which the Slideshow is to appear.
- Click the
button on the administrator toolbar.
- Select
in the location or section where the Image Slideshow will be located.
