ArticlesShort DescriptionArticles are text documents to be used on the web pages. They can contain tables, images, text, attachments and any other item the user requires on the site. See Also: How toAccessing the Article Manager To access the Article Manager you must be logged in with the administrator toolbar visible at the top of your screen. Select the The Article Manager will load. Articles currently in your system will be shown in the table on the right. The Manager Options menu is on the left. Up to ten articles will appear on each page. When more than ten images exist in a folder the top of the Manager will change. Forward and back arrows allow movement through the pages. The drop down list on the right shows the ID numbers for the objects on each page. Adding ArticlesNew Articles:To add an article, enter the Article Manager and click on the 'Add Article' button in the Manager menu. To add the new article into a specific folder, select the folder name from the Folder drop down list before clicking 'Add Article'.
Click 'Create' and the new article will appear at the end of the articles list in the Manager. The default text in the new article is equal to the title given above. Duplicating Articles:A new article may also be created by duplicating another. This is particularly handy when creating numerous articles with the same layouts or heading styles. To duplicate an article:
The new article will appear at the end of the Article Manager in the same folder as the original. Both articles will have the same title and content. The new article will have a different ID number. Editing or deleting one article will not affect the other. Warning: Images and other objects that have been inserted into one article will not be duplicated when that article is duplicated. Editing any objects (eg: resizing or overwriting an image) will affect all instances where that object appears in the system.Editing Articles Editing articles takes place in the Article Editor. The WYSIWYG editor has cross-browser and cross-platform support. It will work on a Mac, Linux or Microsoft Windows as long as Javascript is enabled and an up to date Browser is used. There are two methods used to access it, either via the Article Manager or from an article inserted on a page or Masterpage. Both are explained below. Viewing the Current Article:Selecting the radio button next to an article and clicking 'View' from the Manager Options menu will open up a pop up-window containing the selected article. You will be unable to modify it in this window. Changing the Article Title:Altering the title of an article will not affect the default or current contents of an existing article. This will only affect what appears in the Article Manager. To change the title of an article select the radio button next to that article and then click the 'Metadata' button from the Manager menu. Deleting ArticlesRemoving an article from the Article Manager will remove every instance where that article appears in your system. Removing an article in this manner can not be undone. Images and other objects used within a deleted article will not be removed from other articles/objects or the system. If you wish to remove an article from a page but keep it in the Article Manager to be accessed or used again please refer to Page Content.To delete an article from the Article Manager.
The Article Manager will refresh with the selected article will be removed from the Manager. Using FoldersFolders are a handy way of sorting objects in your system. If you have a high content website often the number of articles will also be quite high. To assist in finding a particular article in the Article Manager it is often easier if it has been sorted into a folder or category. The default folder that all articles will be added to is 'Unsorted Objects'. New folders are not created until you move the first article into them. Creating a New Folder:
